Lava ESPRESSO

Your ceramic mug with a non-toxic, natural glaze.

Each Lava ESPRESSO cup is handcrafted in the Parisian atelier Studio Racines. Designer Philipp Kopatz shapes them on the potter's wheel, with a particular sensitivity for material and surface.

The cup is made from high-quality black, chamotte stoneware clay and fired at 1300 °C. This gives it an exceptional density, high resistance and a pleasant feel.

Unlike many industrially manufactured espresso cups, which may contain harmful substances such as lead, barium or other heavy metals in the glazes, the Lava ESPRESSO is completely free of harmful substances, food-safe and safe for daily use.

The inside is glazed with a shiny, transparent glaze – free of any harmful substances – while the outside is left raw. This preserves the natural beauty and texture of the clay.

Over time, the raw exterior develops a soft, individual surface that becomes increasingly personal through use.

Notes:

• Material: Black, chamotte stoneware clay
• Technique: Hand-thrown, fired at 1300 °C
• Glaze: Shiny and transparent inside, raw outside.
• Dimensions: approx. Ø 5.5 cm (without handle), height approx. 6 cm
• Use: food-safe, dishwasher-safe (gentler washing program and non-aggressive detergents recommended), not microwave-safe, oven up to max. 100 °C

It is recommended to avoid contact between very greasy substances and the raw outer surface. Any residue can be removed with a mild cleaner.

Each cup is unique. Slight variations in shape, color and surface are part of the special quality and expression of true craftsmanship.
